Root passwd is important, it must be confidentials.
To delete root passwd, you can go to ok promt. Put cd solaris disk 1 inside the server.

ok> boot cdrom -s

# mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /a

–> mount it to /a or /tmp

# cd /a
# cd etc
# vi shadow
root:g8KeIzST4Un8o:13409::::::

- delete g8KeIzST4Un8o
- save and reboot

Filed under: general

Today i manage to install Vmware Workstation version 5.5.2.
It is Windows based and inside that i install Solaris 10 and Red Hat WS4.
I’m using Dell GX620, processor 3.2Gz, 1Giga RAM and 80 Hardisk.
so i divided into :
XP = 256 RAM, 10 GB space
Red Hat WS4 = 256 RAM, 10 GB space
Solaris 10= 512 RAM, 20 GB space

If i turn ON all, my XP pc will be slow because memory been shared.
Inside Vmware i can ssh/telnet to others server, Wow, excellent beb! i can restart my solaris anytime and can do any testing required.
